Thanks!

Hi selspiero,

short google search and found this: http://psonlinehelp.equallogic.com/V3.3/configuring_syslog_event_notification.htm

This means, that Equallogic can send syslog; perfect because Splunk can receive syslog.
Follow the docs http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.2.3/Data/SyslogTCP to enable Splunk to receive syslog.

Hope that helps ...

Hi MuS,

How to specify the port for configuring syslog in EqualLogic ? There is no option for port.

If we just put the IP, which port does it sends to ?

From Splunk side, do we need to create a TCP port or UDP port for EqualLogic ?

Thanks

To be honest, I don't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My guess here is that it uses UDP on port 514 since this is the default for syslog.
