Do all clusters need to be running the same version

Hi,

Do all Splunk clusters need to be running the same version? We are spinning up a new datacenter, and I'd like to go to the 6.1.6. version, but my other clusters are running 6.1.1

You do not need to run the same version across clusters. However, within a 6.1 cluster, all instances (master, peers, search heads) must be running the same version. So, as long as you do not have a search head trying to access both clusters, you should be fine.

Starting with 6.2, btw, the restrictions around intra-cluster version compatibility have been loosened to some degree. See:
