splunk-6 search postprocesses

Hi.
Is there any way to organize a hidden search with some postprocesses in a splunk-6 dashboard ?
The manual tells that postprocesses does not apply to the most recent version http://docs.splunk.com/Special:SpecialLatestDoc?t=Documentation/Splunk/latest/Developer/ModuleRefere...

Is there any other way?

hmmm I'm using PostProcess on Splunk 6 without any troubles? Here is a good example on how to setup a Dashboard using one Search and PostProcess its results....
