how do I send an sms through alert options(run a script)

I want to send an sms alert through JAVA or SHELL script which will call HTTP API and pass the message into that API.

Many companies use PagerDuty and xMatters and there sre apps for both of these on Splunkbase. If not then you can sign up for a free Twilio account and go that way (another app). If you do not have admin on your search head, then you can use the little-known and littler-used email-to-SMS gateways:

Depends on the version of Splunk you are running. On all newer versions of Splunk, you have multiple options of sending alert

• Use inbuilt options from Splunk (eg Webhook, Run a script)
• Many SMS applications come with an App. Twilio is an excellent option. You just need to install app and it will do the rest
• Write your own scripts and bundle into an app.
