dashboard open link in new window

Is there a way to force a link from a dashboard to open in a new window?
similar to target=_blank?

I would like to use to from the navigation menu (to link to other internal websites that would be useful for reference data) and also from a dashboard to link to device login pages (using the host ip as a parameter to the link ).. use splunk to generate a list of ip addresses for a certain host type and generate a clickable link for them to allow administration from https web page (linking to a new page from the dashboard).
is this possible?
