Dashboards & Visualizations

How to get ride of div sourcecode-viewer from my dashboard and forms that appeared after copying css and js from a demo app?

I copied some stuff like .css and .js from a demo app with custom visualizations and included these files to a self made app with custom views. Now I get a extra div in my dashboard/forms called sourcecode-viewer which is not referenced in the simple xml of the dashboard. Even if I remove the css etc from the app and recreate the simple xml dashboard and restart splunk, I still get the div in all forms/dashboards in this app.

Where exactly do I have to remove stuff to get it out again?

Hi dominiquevocat,

do you use the dashboard.js from the simple_xml_example app? This will load the SourceViewer from this app.
Also consider setting in web.conf of your testing/develpoment search head:

js_no_cache = True

you can always refresh the content of the static directory by accessing this URI:

http://<yourSplunkServer>/en-US/_bump

Another helpful feature is to restart only the web service, which will btw not end any user session:

splunk restart splunkweb

don't forget your browser is also caching, so do a reload form time to time CRTL + ALT + R

hope this helps ...

cheer, MuS
