Using CSS /JS/simpleXML anything works for splunk 6.1.3
There are a number options for tweaking a viz in splunk.

Height is one of the options.
Following option is available for each visualization in simple xml which defines the height of the visualization.
<option name="height">40px</option>
You can set these options per your need.
40px this will only modify height of the chart inside panel. I need to change vertical size of panels?
Could you provide more details on what do you mean by vertical size of panels? (for me vertical size is height)

Are you asking how to change the vertical size of visualization panels using CSS, JS, or Simple XML? or are you stating that it is indeed possible using these different options just for the users on Splunk Answers to be aware of?
