Can I reload the values of a form input?

Hi,

I have a form with a drop-down select which passes values (index) to a multi-select form (sourcetype). What I've noticed is that if I've chosen some sourcetypes, and then decide to change the index, the sourcetypes remain in the multi-select input, and I have to delete them manually. Is there a way to reload the sourcetype input after the index selection changes?

Hope this makes sense...

You have to set it up in a hierarchical manner so that your cascading parameters will operate as expected.

@Somesoni2 posted some sample code here a couple of years back -

Thanks. When I saw "cascading", I recalled something similar in the Splunk Dashboard examples app, and that appears to do what I want. However, looking at the example, the description mentions using "populatingSearch", but the example doesn't actually use populatingSearch, so I'm not sure where to put it.

Anyone?
