When you’re building and shipping apps at scale, you need more than documentation - you need timely, expert help that keeps you moving.

Developer Advisory and Support (DAS) exist to help app developers succeed by rapidly and effectively meeting their Splunk app development at scale. Whether you’re building something new, troubleshooting an issue or validating that your approach aligns with best practices.

Today, we’re making DAS even easier to access with a new intake form available directly in the Splunk Developer Program.

What’s new: a streamlined intake form inside the Developer Program

You can now submit DAS requests through a simple “Contact us” workflow, right from the Developer Program landing page under the Developer Advisory and Support section.

This new intake form is designed to:

  • Route requests more efficiently
  • Capture the right details upfront (so less back-and-forth)
  • Help the DAS team respond faster with the right support

When should you use DAS?

DAS is built specifically for Splunk App Developers, from new builders to experienced partners and ISVs, who want help moving faster, building confidently, and staying aligned with platform best practices.

DAS services

1) Developer consultations
Get expert, personalized technical guidance to accelerate app development, resolve issues, and align with best practices.

Common requests we help with include:

  • Best practices for generating and storing unique identifiers (GUIDs) for important logs
  • Packaging an app for the first time (including how to add icons and polish the app experience)
  • Troubleshooting app issues like dashboard errors and unexpected behavior

What developers often ask us:

  • What’s the best way to generate and store GUIDs for key logs so they stay consistent across events?
  • I’m packaging my Splunk app for the first time, how do I add icons and make sure it’s structured correctly?
  • My app dashboard is throwing an error; how do I troubleshoot this and figure out what’s breaking?

2) Developer license fulfillment
Request and receive developer licenses to access developer tooling and a full set of Splunk Enterprise features (based on eligibility and program access).

We commonly support with:

  • License submission errors and warnings
  • Resetting license keys and resolving license warning states
  • License renewal requests and general license inquiries

What developers often ask us:

  • My license submission is failing; can you help me fix the error and get it approved?
  • I’m seeing license warnings in my environment; how do I reset the key or resolve the warning state?
  • My developer license is expiring soon, what’s the process for renewal?
