In the second session, we will focus on processing and optimizing data before it lands in Splunk indexes. Event-based data management allows organizations to reduce unnecessary ingestion costs while improving data quality and usability.
Topics will include:
- An overview of Edge Processor (EP), Ingest Processor (IP), and Ingest Actions (IA)
- SPL2 and how it can be used for data transformation
- Common techniques used in data processing including:
- Best practices for routing data to Amazon S3 and promoting it when needed
- Using templates to simplify and standardize data processing workflows
This session will offer practical guidance on how to optimize data pipelines and ensure that the right data lands in the right place at the right time.
