Hey, all! In an effort to keep this Slack workspace secure and also to make our new members' experience easy, we are soooo excited to share that we will be enabling SSO and connecting your splunk.com and Slack accounts!! Yay!

So, what happens now?

You will get an email from Slack on July 28th, 2025 asking you to bind your account. Press the Authenticate your account button in the binding email to get started. The process takes less than a minute! See the example below:

You may see an option to Remain associated with your account (continue using the same account you had been using) or Switch. To retain your message history in Slack, make sure to choose the option to remain associated with your account.

What do you need to do before that?

We want to avoid duplicate accounts! Make sure the email address on your splunk.com account and Slack community are the same by going to:

On Slack: Account > Settings > Email Address

  1. On Splunk.com > My Dashboard > Email address

Keep in mind that splunk.com account emails cannot be changed, so if you no longer have access to that email, you might need to create a new splunk.com account with the email that matches the one on your Slack account.

Please make sure you authenticate your account to ensure the best user experience for you!
