IBM Agent 4.1.2 not working with Websphere 7.X

We have recently upgraded our Performance Environment from 4.0 to 4.1.2 both controller and agents. Agent is not compatible with Websphere and application is throwing Java Cast exceptions for different classes every time. This was working fine without Appdynamics and also with 4.0. Any suggestions appreciated.

Followed all configurations in the help doc for Websphere except the bootstrap com.singularity as that is not working while adding to JVM Generic options and even the config.ini file.

Also 4.1.2 is consuming too much heap space and application is showing memory issues even without any load.

Hi Ramachandran,

As stated by support team the error stack "java.lang.ClassCastException: com.yantra.ycp.customdb.YFS_MenuImpl" does not have references to AD agent api so we would require websphere console logs without agent as well to confirm if this is raising only when agent in place.

Also did you got chance to try ibm agent as suggested by supported on help ticket,

One quick query i want to check with you is do you have custom split rules OR http collectors in UI on servlet requests if yes can you disable such rules and check behavior.

Also we see agent should not be causing classcastexception because agent does not change the class type YFS_MenuImpl it is runtime object not compatible with customer class YFS_MenuBase, Can you check whether YFS_MenuBase and YFS_MenuImpl are  compatible as per java at code level once?

We have changed to IBM Agent and now application is working fine but agent is not sending any data to controller.

Please note application was working fine with 4.0 agent for last one year and this seems to be a bug with 4.1. Please refer to ticket to see more logs and details.

AppDynamics was also onsite here and suspecting a product bug with 4.1
