How do you compute availability using EUM

We have a complex system of interconnected applications and each application is being used by multiple users.

Can someone explain how I can get application availability data from AD.

Does EUM capture transaction failures due to DB going down or App server crashing etc.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to appsphere community forum, Apologies for delay in response.
Please find the response to your queries inline:

>>>>>>. Can someone explain how I can get application availability data from AD.

Answer: agent provides Availability metric which helps to confirm whether your application/JVM is reporting with the following exceptions, you can use the Availability metric at path "Application Infrastructure Performance|<tier>|Individual Nodes|<Node name>|Agent|App|Availability" under metric browser to define an alert when the metric reporting value is < 1, agent reports value 1 when agent is reporting fine to controller. Let us know if that helps

- if agnet/controller does not have any connectivity issues

Answer: EUM captures browser level snapshots and any JS errors and errors in ajax calls, However the appserver agent should capture any database connectivity errors part of the business transactions errors or part of application errors under Troubleshoot -> errors screens, under Error transactions and Exceptions tab (as referred in attached screenshot)
refer docs for more information on EUM and error detection features:

Let us know if that clarifies your queries. Do write back to us for further assistance.

Thanks,

Arun
