how to use it on Distributed Splunk Setup for pinging multiple IPs and storing to index,Wants to ping few IPs and get results indexed

We have distributed splunk environment with indexing cluster.
1. Where to configure index name which is generally present on indexer
2. Where to mention list of IPs to be monitored for PING and store their results in one of the index
