are the perfdata inputs for the Nagios app TCP inputs?

I just upgraded from the old version and you mentioned adding inputs host-perfdata and service perfdata are they TCP inputs correct can you please specify it

host-perfdata and service perfdata are not TCP inputs... the instructions on
http://splunk-base.splunk.com/apps/22374/splunk-for-nagios
show two methods to ingest the nagios log files from your Nagios server to your Splunk indexer (chose only one method):
1. Configure a 'Universal Forwarder' on the Nagios server
or
2. Configure nagios log file ingestion using 'rsync' on the Splunk indexer
