Hi. I am trying to install the trial version of splunk but am running the Windows 8 beta on my machine. It is coming up with an error that not a valid Windows installer product. Is there a workaround for this?

After enable guest account, you'll be able to install.

You have the tag of "Splunk App for Windows" but do you just mean installing Splunk outright on Windows 8?
I have successfully installed it without any problems, it was version 4.3.2 64 bit installed on Windows 8 Consumer preview build 8250. All installed (both Windows and Splunk) on default settings. The only issue I found was that Internet Explorer Metro seems to be unable to load a local web server, it could be a setting or a bug but worth noting.

If you stick to the traditional Internet Explorer (the desktop version) then all appears to work well.
