Hi nymrand,

Your first sentence says ".. getting the above..". I don't see anything, could you try to tell me what the error is?

Thanks

Checked items 2 and 3 and confirmed both. There is some data reaching the app from the host.
Changed 8089 to 8090 and now I get a different error-Problem reaching host. Password for the specified host cannot be found. Yet I'm using the same forwarder admin/password combination I use on the vc server when working in the forwarder. Thanks.

It could be several things.

  1. Can you check to see if you have the correct port number for the splunk management port, at times on Windows it can be 8090 if 8089 is already selected. Make sure you can ping that port on the vCenter machine.
  2. Check to make sure are entering https and not http. The same Fully Qualified Domain Name you entered for the VC credentials are the one's you should enter here.
  3. Ensure Splunk is running on that machine and that Splunk_TA_vcenter is installed on it.
