Using splunk to scrape Twitter timelines

I've tried using the api calls from Twitter's api site, as well as the documentation found here and created the REST input, however, nothing is pulled in. I get no errors, but nothing is pulled in. I was able to connect to the endless tweet stream of useless data, but I'm trying to find a way to pull certain users TL's as well as my own. This seems as though it should be extremely simple, yet I've spent hours trying to get it properly configured. Has anyone gotten this working? If so, care to share the secrets?

Hi, i'm not sure if this can resolve your problem, you can try to download
"Twitter Add-on"(twitter2) and create a input for twitter %1 sample date,
however, you need to have your own oauth for twitter first, (such as Consumer key, Access token..etc), if you haven't, go to dev.twitter.com/apps and sign up,
hope this helps 😉
