this add-on in version 2.2.0 has no support for Splunk version 7.x . Does it work with splunk version 7.1.2? If not, when will it be available for splunk v 7.x ?

still, you can install and give a try.
Most of the times apps/add-ons will support higher versions of Splunk Enterprise.
