Splunkbase Upload Blocked: "Pending Validation" Lock Despite No Pending Releases on App ID 3657

App: Illumio Technology Add-On for Splunk (App ID: 3657)
Latest Published Release: v4.1.1 (Release ID: 40618, published 2025-12-08)

When attempting to upload a new version on Splunkbase, the following error is displayed:
"Cannot upload a new version while another release is pending validation."

However, no such pending release exists. We have verified this through:

  • The Splunkbase UI — all older/existing releases show Approved or Rejected status on both Victoria and Classic install methods

  • The Splunkbase Release API (GET /api/v1/app/3657/release/) — all 13 releases have a published_datetime set, with no draft or pending entries

  • The companion Search Head app — no pending releases found there either

 

Earlier I tried to submit a new release, but it got stuck on validation process for a few mins and then the UI reverted back to "Upload File" state and I re-uploaded again and immediately got this.

Hi @koushikillumio 

There have been some issues with Splunkbase API today which I've personally experienced when uploading apps for vetting and also Splunk Cloud private app installs.

I would recommend trying again tomorrow / later and hopefully Splunk will have resolved the issue by then.

Has Splunk notified this officially somewhere?

I have been uploading apps for quite sometime now, but never had this issue.

I got this info from Splunk Support yesterday. I have tried uploading again today and it has worked for me, please could you retry and see if this is resolved for you too?

As far as I know there is no Splunkbase specific status page - there is a Splunk Cloud service status page but it does not show Splunkbase. 

If you are still experiencing an issue I would suggest contacting Splunk Support so that they can investigate your specific app ID to see if there are any issues in their backend service.
