Splunk Addon for AWS upgrade

Hi,

Can I please know the steps for performing a safe upgrade of Splunk Addon for AWS from version 4.2.2 to 4.4.0 ?

There are significant differences in the way the 4.2 and 4.4 ADDONS work with the AWS APP.
You must use TA4.4 with APP5.1. You cant use TA4.4 with APP5.0.x or Lower

If you are using the APP as well as the ADDON - you should read the documentation on the APP fully to understand how the configuration and interaction process has changed.

If, however, you are Just using the ADDON to collect data, the 4.2 version of the inputs is still compatible with 4.4, so normal practice applies, backup your data, and install the latest version as normal

@nickhillscpl We are using it to just forward S3 logs into Splunk.
How to backup ,is it copying /opt/splunk/etc/ to /opt/splunk/etc.bak ?
