Sideview TimeRangePicker

I’ve noticed that the sample interfaces in Sideview still have the TimeRangePicker look & feel and behavior from Splunk 5.x. I much prefer the 5.x style TimeRangePicker and would like to customize all of my Splunk search interfaces to use this instead of the Splunk 6 default TimeRangePicker. I compared the TimeRangePicker part of the Sideview Search view to that of the flashtimeline view and didn’t seen anything different. How can I do this?

Flashtimeline is no longer the default search view. You can re-enable flashtimeline and get access to the old timerangepicker. See this answer by ChrisG.
