Hi,

Does anyone know if there are plans to support LDAP search commands on 'Splunk App for Active Directory' when running the Splunk instance on a Windows Server 2008 server, and if so when ?

Regards.....John.

I'm running into exactly the same issue. The infrastructure is heavily windows based and putting in a linux box can be a real challenge in the environment. I've tried the Java SA_LDAPSearch and I'm running into the known issue that was described in the documentation. I too would like to know if there is a plan for rolling out a windows based equivalent of SA-LDAPSearch. Thanks

Hi Dart,

I haven't tried Splunk for Active Directory v1.1.3 yet which uses SA_LDAPSearch but on the v1.1.3 release notes in Current Known Issues it does say that ldapsearch doesn't work on the windows OS and that the workaround is to implement a linux instance.

Saying that I'll give it a go and see how I get on.

Regards......john.
