I will update the Splunk version compatability list soon, but I have the current SNMP Mod Input version working with Splunk 6.
BTW this question is being discussed on Episode 69 of Splunktalk, which we are recording this very instant.
We are testing this right now-ish. Watch the app listing for the SNMP modinput (and click the subscribe button) to be notified for new releases. I expect the "v6 compatible" box will be checked soon, but no promises on a date.
If you want to contribute to the code, the source is on github.
The app doesn't appear to have the Splunk 6 compatibility listed yet. You can certainly try it out to see if it works for you. Also, i would recommend going to the app page and subscribing so you can get alerted when there are any updates to that app.
@sdaniels, i did try it. downloaded and installed the file on my splunk 6 server. but no luck. though i see it listed on the apps section, i dont see the snmp on the data inputs.
@halr9000 - i will subscibe and keep an eye. thanks for confirming.
i will see if i can get some time to look at the source code.
