We are preparing to upgrade our apps and add-ons in preparation for Upgrading Splunk Enterprise to 7.2.6. All the upgrades look pretty seamless except I'm concerned with the add-on for microsoft windows. From what I gather, there are significant changes to event and sourcetypes. Will 4.8.4 of the add-on work fine with Splunk 7.2 as well as the Splunk App for Windows Infrastructure? If not, is 5.0.1 of the add-on backwards compatible or will our custom apps using this add on require modification for the new sourcetypes, events, etc.
