How do I give users access to view the License Usage Report?

Currently only administrators can see the license usage report. I'd like our power users to be able to see it as well to prevent any license violation issues.

I'm setting this up under the power role. Substitute whatever role you want to use for this.

Create $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/search/metadata/local.meta with the following:

[manager/admin_license]
access = read : [ power, admin ], write : [ admin ]

[manager/licensing_stacks]
access = read : [ power, admin ], write : [ admin ]

Modify the role and add the following capabilities:

license_edit
license_tab

Please be aware that this gives the user the ability to manipulate and edit the licensing information!

An an aside, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. In my mind, this seems like something administrators should be looking at, not users.
