How can I force the REST API Modular Input to ignore the SSL certificate verification?

I have an internally secured endpoint URL which my heavy forwarder cannot verify and thus fails the GET.
Can I add a switch to the python code to ignore SSL certificate verification? We are running on a Linux environment.
