HomeMonitor CONFIG - Page Not Found - MAC OSX

Engager

Spunk Enterprise 6.4.2 Build 00f5bb3fa822
Late 2012 Mac Mini Mac OSX 10.11.6
Home Monitor 4.5.1

All Installed correctly as best I can tell, I can see the app in the Splunk homepage but when I go to use it I am asked to complete the configuration and I get a 404 Page Not Found.

I tried to follow the information on some other posts but they mostly refer to windows. If I try to browse to applications/splunk/etc/apps/homemonitor to look at the XML of CONF files mentioned in the posts, I get an access denied message the directory does exist and I can see it doing an ls open the apps directory.

Interested to get it working if I can but I am getting the syslog data directly into Splunk now using a UDP Data Input on port 514 so not overly critical.

Please see https://answers.splunk.com/answers/440675/404-when-setting-up-home-monitor-app.html#answer-442616 for the workaround / fix for now. I will be working on a solution in the app in the next release.

Thanks

I think I know what the problem is, I helped someone else with this same issue last week. I'll be fixing the app with another transform that will fix this issue.

The problem is that UDP 514 was probably already setup and after Splunk is done wit the setup page, it has an issue with both the home monitor app and the global UDP setting being enabled.

I will have this fix soon, I just need to test it out and validate that it will work accordingly.
