Per http://splunk-base.splunk.com/apps/42678/isa-monitor:

"I have tested the app with both local data and using the universal forwarder."

I take it to mean that you should:

  • set up a universal forwarder on your ISA servers
  • install the ISA Monitor app on these forwarders
  • enable the inputs by copying default/inputs.conf to local/inputs.conf and changing the value of 'disabled'
  • install the ISA Monitor app on your indexers and search heads (if applicable)
  • Configure your indexers to receive data (if not already done)
  • Configure your forwarders to forward data to your indexers

how do you install the app on a forwarder?
