Dashboard Panel in a View

I have a View which uses the Google Map Module and dashboard.html template

I want to add another panel to it with a stats table, when I use the Dashboard designer to add the panel to existing dashboard it doesn't work.

How can I add an new row with a stats table to the view. This is confusing to have as Dashboard as one want to create dashboard and Views / Module as another way. What is the consistent way to create a Dashboard with Modules like Google Maps?

To me, the easiest way is to go to the xml file that creates your view and edit it directly. If you do this, it as simple as adding a new set of modules to create a table, like simpleresultstable.
