According to the documentation:

Under "Distributed deployment feature compatibility", the package should contain eventgen.conf and samples.

I have just dowloaded the package and untarred .tgz file. It does not contain eventgent.conf and samples.

Does anyone know how to generate data for this app in UF?

it was removed in 3.2.5 of the TA https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/AddOns/released/CiscoASA/Releasehistory#Fixed_issues_6

guess they've never updated the docs since 2016...
