This is for a new install on Mac OSX Mountain Lion for splunk, using the shell script method, I am not able to start splunk and get the following output on the apple script:

error "2013-06-18 12:16:35.823 osascript[17567:707] Error loading /Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types: dlopen(/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types, 262): no suitable image found. Did find:
/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types: no matching architecture in universal wrapper
osascript: OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition \"/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax\" declares no loadable handlers.
710:714: syntax error: Expected end of line, etc. but found identifier. (-2741)" number 1

Please advice how to resolve this.

Do you have administrative access to the machine you're installing it on? Try running it with sudo.
