Can I authenticate with the "splunk" CLI tool to a remote Splunk server that uses Okta for authentication?

splunk login wants a username and password:

$ ./splunk login
Splunk username: user
Password:
Moved Temporarily
Login Failed

but since my Splunk server uses Okta for auth, there is no password to give it.

Greetings,

Splunk's CLI calls do not work with SSO. If you want to use your SSO-enabled splunk instance with ./splunk calls, you will need to add a local user to the splunk instance and authenticate via that user ID.
