Q. What is required to participate in the preview for Observability Cloud?

A. 

• You must have Splunk Observability Cloud deployed in their environment
• Running a Java-based application
• The customer must be US-based and running the application on AWS (us0 or US1 realms)

Q. How is Secure Application different from Splunk Enterprise Security?

A. Splunk Enterprise Security is a broad SIEM platform focused on enterprise-wide security and detections. Secure Application is specifically designed for application-level, runtime security and is not part of Splunk Enterprise Security. It complements the Splunk security portfolio by focusing on the needs of application teams, especially those responsible for application development and operations.

Q. Is Secure Application included free?

A. No, Secure Application is an add-on capability for both AppDynamics and Observability Cloud offered as a paid add-on for Splunk Observability Cloud APM (both standard and enterprise editions). Pricing will be competitive and value-based, using a per-host metric
aligned with existing observability products. Available for both SaaS and on-prem environments, matching current AppDynamics secure app licensing models.

Q. Is  it part of Splunk Base?

A. No, Secure Application is not included at this time, but may be added in the future.

Q. Will Secure Application alerts be mapped to the Splunk Common Information Model (CIM)?

A. Yes, mapping to CIM is planned as part of the roadmap to support deeper integration with Splunk Enterprise Security at GA.
