unable to launch splunk on local machine.

I recently installed splunk on my local machine (Win 7 * 32 bit). Every time i launch it, it gets opened via google chrome. But currently i am unable to launch it (http://localhost:8000/en-US/app/search/search). It says web page not available. The internet is in good shape. Please suggest!

Sounds like a splunkd process has crashed at 2015-05-14 23:29:00, try restarting all Splunk services.

Check for error messages at the end of C:\Program Files\Splunk\var\log\splunk\splunkd.log.

Start splunk service if its on linux box.
$SPLUNK_HOME/bin/splunk start
