difference between user and author field

Hi Guys,

What is the difference between user and author fields along with the fields below as well?

title, author, is_scheduled, is_visible, eai:acl.perms.write, eai:acl.sharing, search, id

Hope your above search is the rest call to list all saved searched. Here author is the person who has created the search. User can be the user who is logged in now and executing the search.
