While researching exchanging licenses between servers I came across "Historical Data." What is historical Data?

Data from the past.

Care to provide a bit more context? Maybe a link to what you were reading?

I believe it is referring to machine data generated in the past and stored somewhere in bulk, ie an archive of syslog data or a collection of daily csv reports from the last year sitting in a directory..
