Hi, anyone can assist me?

I have my own application at Visual Studio using API to extract information, these information is then feed to Splunk for analysis (I need real-time data).

I have created .bat to run my application.
Q: .bat I will place in the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/my_app/bin/ ?

$SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/my_app/scripts/ ---> what should I place?

Is this a scripted input ?
If so , then yes it should go in your apps "bin" directory

$SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/my_app/bin

I would suggest copying all the necessary artifacts over to you apps "bin" directory, execute the bat script directly, and if you see the desired console output, then this should work fine when the bat script is fired by Splunk.

Hi, thank you for your reply. Another question, do you know if I can place my whole Visual Studio Console Application in the "Scripts" directory? Cause I cannot make my project into a stand alone executable file.
