Searching for computer information

I need to do a basic search to find when a computer was last logged on and any network traffic information based off of the ip address.

your question is just a little bit vague!

Are you speaking of windows or Linux computer?

which are exactly your Use cases?

Anyway, you could see in splunkbase (apps.splunk.com) the apps for monitoring Windows Infrastructure (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/1680/) or nix (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/273/) and check how many of your Use Cases are covered by them, then identify the missing ones and see if it's possible to create custom.
