I have a MacBook Pro running OSX Version 10.5.8 - It extracted Splunk file folder but the finder could find splunk.pkg - So, what's up with that?
Very strange. Most of the people I know in Splunk uses OSX, so it's strange that they haven't noticed this error.
Have you tried to install older version, just in case? Or download it again?
