Splunk Search

Log file test needed

AR

Hi,

I am beginner at splunk and wondering if there is a test log file somewhere that I can get to get to know more about splunk? I already have a Splunk test system but no data to test.

Thanks in advance!

Basically you could use any text based log or other files on your workstation to star learning splunk. Also internal indexes (_internal, _audit etc.) are good starting points.
And of course Splunk Search Tutorial which contains some sample data.

Hi @AR ,

as log test you could use also the wineventlogs from your machine, but the best approach is to follow the Splunk Search Tutorial that teach to you how to use Splunk and gives test logs.

You can find it at https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.1.0/SearchTutorial/WelcometotheSearchTutorial

Ciao.
