Javascript or HTML5 in app setup pages?

Someone just asked me if it was possible to have something like a slider on the app setup page for entry of data.

Something like this
http://dhtmlx.com/docs/products/dhtmlxSlider/

I thought it would be just a matter of modifying the setup HTML page. Then when I went in to have a look I remembered it was a setup.xml file with not too much room to move.

Does anyone know if this would be possible and if so how?
