I am not sure if this is a bug. I am using the same dataset and i am "appendcols" them. I can see the visualization - but i cant interact with the screen and it freezes.

I don't see any reason why this search should cause your browser window to freeze. That said, I have had troubles with various browsers from time to time. Switching the browser usually solves the problem. I have sometimes found that clicking on the Splunk logo resets the problem as well.
