How do you count events in groups of matching eventtypes?

Looking for the count of events matching every eventtype combination.
For instance:
Given 5 events (e1..e5) that match eventtypes A and B as follows:

  1. e1 matches: eventtypeA eventtypeB
  2. e2 matches: eventtypeA
  3. e3 matches: eventtypeB
  4. e4 matches: eventtypeA eventtypeB
  5. e5 matches: eventtypeA

The count I'm looking for is:
EventTypes combination / count:

  • eventtypeA eventtypeB 2
  • eventtypeA 2
  • eventtypeB 1

Seems to me you need to create a field that represents every combination of eventtypes, so:

... | eval comboeventtypes=mvjoin(eventtypes,";") | stats count by comboeventtypes
