How do I map a field from a lookup to a Splunk index?

Hello Splunkers,

I have a requirement to match a field from an index to a field in a lookup and then extract the rest of the lookup fields basing on the matched field.

For ex: I would like to match the time fields from lookup with a time field from an index and retrieve the rest of the lookup fields/fields in the index based on the matched time field.

Thanks in advance !!

Suppose your lookup field is time, then your query would be as below. Make sure the name of time field is same in index and lookup, if its different then rename it to have a common name.

index=<yourindexname> | join time[|inputlookup <yourlookupname.csv> ]
