Has anyone implemented a Motion Chart or Small Multiples using D3?

I'm looking for a way to to implement a motion chart and small multiples with my Splunk data. I know the D3 library supports motion charts and I was hoping someone has already figured out the integration steps with Splunk.

If you're not familiar with Motion Charts, you can see a terrific example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbkSRLYSojo

There is a timeline based scatter plot you can use in the d3plus app. It has a x y scatterplot with a size for the z that you can attach to a timefield, so to answer your question, yes. An example can be seen in the app. An external example can be seen here (try clicking on the play button).
