Hi all,

Splunk search head web url is set to https://hostname:8000

Is there a way to change it to just https://splunk for our environment

Yes, you would need two things:

  1. A DNS entry for your vanity hostname
  2. Something to redirect users from 443 to 8000, you could use iptables if you're on linux
