Can we plot non numeric values over chart with y axis value=0

I am drawing a timechart for Memory Usage. as
mysearchhere|timechart first(mu) as "Memory Usage"

I have one more field called "Debug" field which contains log about any spike in chart as "Process is Entered". I know we cannot plot log on chart as it is non numeric field. but is there any way that I can display these messages when user mouse over x axis. As x axis is Time and log mesgs are coming with time stamps.
Please suggest. This is very important requirement.
Thanks,
disha

You could eval yourself a numeric field based on whether Debug contains the magic words or not, and plot the sum of that field instead.
