Can't change lookup definition permissions from private

matstap
Communicator

I tried to change the permissions on a lookup definition from private to App but was given this error:

Splunk could not update permissions for resource data/transforms/lookups [HTTP 409] [{'text': 'Cannot overwrite existing app object', 'code': None, 'type': 'ERROR'}]

For those who have had and resolved this issue, what was your source/solution?

Hi matstap,

Check if there is another non-private knowledge object that has the same name as your lookup definition or check the actual file permission on OS level which can also produce this kind of error.

Hope this helps ...

cheers, MuS
