Are there any problems with renaming a SplunkBase App?

I've seen a few answers on renaming an app, however I don't want to change the id or folder structure, I just want to change the name of the SplunkBase app and the description in the app.conf of the package.

Are there any gotchas or errors that may occur for downstream customers when doing this?

Will it impact the upgrade path for users?

In my situation, I was just changing the display name in app.conf and the display name in SplunkBase -- so far it looks like it is working okay, but we'll see if any end users have an issue when they go to upgrade.

which app do you have in mind?
for majority of them, the answer below is good. i think there are few apps that its internal setup refers to the app name or app folder name and therefore you have to be careful prior doing so.
